February is Love the Bus Month!

At RGCGISD, we are incredibly proud of our dedicated bus drivers and transportation staff who safely transport our students to and from school each day. Not only do they transport our students to and from school each day, but they also go the extra mile by getting our students to after-school activities, athletic games, competitions, and events. Their commitment to safety, reliability, and care plays a vital role in our students’ daily success. Thank you for keeping our students safe and our district rolling forward! 🚌💛

On Thursday, October 16, Rio Grande City Grulla ISD proudly hosted our first-ever Warm Hearts for Kids Campaign — and it was a tremendous success!
All of our campuses, departments, and central office staff came together to collect jackets, blankets, gloves, and other winter essentials to ensure that every student in RGCGISD can stay warm and cared for during the colder months. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we received an incredible number of donations!
During the event, our students, principals, departments, and central office staff also took a special moment to surprise our Superintendent of Schools, Mrs. Guadalupe Garza, with heartfelt words of appreciation in celebration of Boss’s Day.
To close the event, everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch and sweet cupcakes in the spirit of gratitude and togetherness.
Thank you to everyone who made this campaign possible and helped spread warmth, kindness, and love across our district!

Rio Homecoming
October 16th is recognized naturally as Boss's Day, a time when leaders are often celebrated with gifts.
But this year, Rio Grande City Grulla ISD Superintendent Garza is starting a new tradition — one focused not on receiving, but on giving back.
"My hope is that we can all come together — regardless of our differing views — for one purpose: our kids," Superintendent Garza said. "I feel blessed to already have more than I need. What matters most to me is making sure our students feel that same sense of care and comfort."
The initiative, called Warm Hearts for Kids, will collect jackets, blankets, gloves, and other winter essentials to ensure every student in RCIS can face the colder months wrapped in warmth and love.
"This tradition is about reminding ourselves that leadership is service. On Boss's Day, our boss gives back," Superintendent Garza added.
