RGCGISD District Life Skills Teachers attended the “N2Y Starting Strong Training” during the Professional Learning Day on Monday, January 9, 2023 to get their lessons and activities ready for the Spring Semester 2023. Teachers were enthusiastic about having access to the “bundled licenses” that provides access to more student programs for the remainder of this school year.

Christmas spirit, lots of cheer, and the warm roars of children’s laughter welcomed guests to
The Gift of Literacy drive on December 9 through 13, 2022. Mrs. Veronica Garcia, Migrant
Education Administrator, alongside Mrs. Virginia Gonzalez, State & Federal Programs Executive
Director, held The Gift of Literacy celebration for A Bright Beginning students. Migrant
students, ages 3 and 4 year olds, were treated to Christmas stockings, books, and toys delivered
by our very own Santa Claus, Ariana Salinas. In addition, Mrs. Sonya Salinas, A Bright Beginning
teacher, visited 2-year-old migrant students, to begin early identification and recruitment, and
provide them with lots of Christmas merriment and jolly gifts. Our A Bright Beginning and
migrant staff made this heartfelt undertaking possible. Special thanks to our campus principals
for allowing us to host this event in their libraries. We would also like to thank our School Board
of Trustees, Adolfo Peña, Jr., Superintendent, and administration for their continuous support.
Last, but certainly not least, our most sincere gratitude to the sponsors who gave so generously
to make this occasion a SUCCESS:
Medina Electric Coalition, Inc.
Texas Department of Public Safety
Mr. Jay Bermea, Jr.
